My Inside Scoop...

As the daughter of a career Army officer, Kelly Dawson knows about picking up and moving your family. Growing up she lived in five different states, and two different cities in Germany. As an adult this theme continued as her husband served in the Navy. Kelly says, “We were married on a Saturday and on Sunday we began the long drive across country to Washington state. I was beginning my teaching career, leaving my large family behind in SC, and starting a new adventure with my husband. We had to lean on each other because we didn’t know anyone else in our new area.” After 10 years in the Seattle area, Kelly and her husband moved back to SC.

Upon their return, Kelly and her husband searched for a great place to raise their growing family. They chose Columbia, SC because of the great school districts and the mix of city and outdoor entertainments. Over the years they have expanded to a family of 7, and after 23 years of teaching Kelly moved into the area of real estate. “Leaving the classroom was hard, but helping others to find the perfect home in which to put down their roots has been incredibly rewarding,” Kelly said. “I think about the wonderful memories we continue to create with our family and friends and want to help others do the same.”
